Hola!

I had a fun and challenging week. The temperature didn’t dip below 100 degrees all week, with many people’s businesses and endeavors struggling in the drought. Luckily it should rain this coming week and bring the temperatures down but we shall see. Elder Maynes and I were able to meet with a lot of our friends this week and teach some really good lessons but it wasn’t easy.

We visited this member whose son set up this tent and acted like he was camping. It reminded me of something that I would do as a kid so I took a picture of it. You can see Thiago clonked out to the left

On Thursday we called our friend Amado who has a baptismal date to see if we can visit him again after he had hurt his leg. He told us that he will be in Ciudad del Este for a couple of weeks working and wouldn’t be able to meet with us and be baptized until he comes back. That was a big bummer, and Thursday and Friday were pretty tough days where I was pretty discouraged and frustrated. But luckily we had a really good day on Saturday, where we taught a girl in the branch named Alexandra and set a baptismal date with her, as well as taught our new friends Carolina and Lujan who came to our English class and wanted to learn more about the gospel. Even though this week was difficult I could see the hand of the Lord in our work and I could feel the love that he has for each of his children here in Coronel Oviedo.

This week was definitely one of the more difficult weeks of my mission but I saw lots of blessings that helped me push through it. I thought on this scripture in the 58th section of the Doctrine and Covenants:

3 Ye cannot behold with your natural eyes, for the present time, the design of your God concerning those things which shall come hereafter, and the glory which shall follow after much tribulation.

4 For after much tribulation come the blessings. Wherefore the day cometh that ye shall be crowned with much glory; the hour is not yet, but is nigh at hand.

It’s important to realize that anything good doesn’t come easy and that sometimes we will have to put forth an effort and have difficult things happen to us before we receive blessings from the Lord. I hope you can all remember that principle and keep on pushing through even with it is difficult.

I hope you all have a good week!

Elder Watson
