Hello!
So this was my last week here in Oviedo. On Thursday we had virtual interviews with President Faundez, and we talked about my time here. He said that I was definitely going to leave. It’s sad because I have loved my time here in Oviedo but then again six months is a long time to be in one area. On Sunday night we learned of our transfers. I’ll be heading closer to Asuncion in a city that’s called Ñemby (pronounced Ni-Yem-Buh). The area itself is called Ypané (pronounced Ooh-Pah-Nay), and I’ll be a district leader still with my companion being one Elder Orr from Hawaii. He doesn’t have too much time on the mission but I’m looking forward to my time there. Elder Maynes served there before so he’s been telling me all about it.
That’s one of the things that happened this week, we also said goodbye to lots of people and taught lots of lessons to help our friends progress. Attached are a bunch of random pictures of stuff that we saw that I thought was funny. On Sunday I was able to bear my final testimony here in Oviedo during sacrament meeting and I felt the spirit very strongly. Sometimes here in Oviedo, it felt like we were doing a lot but not seeing too much success, and I got frustrated sometimes. But after bearing my testimony I was able to reflect back on my time here and see that I did help people and was able to relate to what Alma felt in Alma 29:10,
10 And behold, when I see many of my brethren truly penitent and coming to the Lord their God, then is my soul filled with joy; then do I remember what the Lord has done for me, yea, even that he hath heard my prayer; yea, then do I remember his merciful arm which he extended towards me.
Even though it has sometimes been difficult I have felt a great joy here as well as I have seen people come closer to Christ, and I hope each of you can remember all the things the Lord has done for you and feel joy!
