Hey Guys!

This week was a lot of fun! But pretty difficult. The lowest temperature it was this entire week was around 102 degrees, and this week it’s going to get even hotter, tomorrow it’s supposed to be 108 degrees. It’s tough, but when you get back home at night you feel exhausted and it’s super easy to sleep. People are also super open to giving us water and listening to us while they stand in the shade so there is a plus to it. I’m gonna keep on pushing through and keep my spirits up so I can help the area the best I can.

We decided to go on visits with the branch leadership this week to better minister to the friends we are teaching. We went to our friend Amado’s house with the Elders Quorum president, and when we arrived Amado wasn’t there. His neighbor then informed us that a few days ago while Amado was sleeping, a drunk dude on the street came into his house and started swinging with a machete, managing to score a hit on Amado’s leg. The police came and apprehended the drunk but then Amado was rushed to the hospital to receive aid. We couldn’t believe it. We called him and he confirmed the story and said that he probably won’t be able to be very physically active and will most likely miss going to church. That was really unfortunate, but luckily we were able to find some really cool people to teach, so I’m really liking the direction that the work is headed here in Oviedo. Just make sure you guys keep Amado in your prayers!

This week in Come, Follow Me the section that talks about how the fall of Adam and Eve was necessary for our salvation struck me. Not in the context of the fall but in the context of our own lives. Sometimes we see the epitome of happiness and success is the lack of challenges and hardships that we face. We don’t realize that it is the hardships and problems that make us develop and grow stronger. When I was frustrated this week due to crazy machete men, the heat, lessons falling through, and things like that I reflected back on the purpose of such setbacks and was able to gain a perspective that gave me the strength to continue on in the face of that adversity. I hope you all can reflect back on the plan that God has for you all so that you can receive help in the midst of hardships!

That’s it from me, talk to you next week!
