Hi!

We had a very interesting week. We had a ton of visits with our friends, but then a lot of them couldn’t attend church for various reasons. One of the big reasons was because we had Stake Conference. Stake Conference is really cool, I got to play the piano for essentially all the sessions, and it was easily the biggest group of people I’ve ever played the piano for. There was a big theme on missionary work too, and several people in the stake (the majority coming from Ypane), bore their testimonies as they were about to serve missions. I loved it all, and at the end we took a big picture with all of the missionaries in the zone with Presidente and Hermana Faundez.

Besides that the week was super cold, I had to sleep with a hoodie every night and even with that I felt super cold all the time. Then this weekend it got really hot and humid again, so that’s Paraguayan weather for you. Also something funny that happened, on Tuesday we had finished an appointment and were walking down a dirt road at nighttime, I was using the phone and recording the appointment with our digital tools when I stepped in a big puddle that I couldn’t see. I yank out both my feet to dry ground and see that the entire bottom part of my right boot came undone. We were super far away from downtown Ypane and I had no idea how we would walk all the way back with a boot that is essentially useless. At that moment a car was passing by and they shouted at us, and I realized that it was a member family that lived close by. We ran over and they saw our plight, and then proceeded to offer us a ride back to Ypane. I was super grateful for them, and goes to show that on a mission you always need to check your shoes to make sure they are going to last the day.

On Sunday evening we had a visit with our friend Mari. She had told us a few weeks ago that she had lots of confusion between her catholic upbringing and some of the questions that she had, and just overall felt very confused. In this visit we wanted to follow up with her study of the book of mormon and her prayers about the confusion she has, and when we brought it up she told us that through the book of mormon and prayer she was able to put her confusions away and be at peace, knowing that what we taught was true. We then put her on date for baptism for later this month. I felt the spirit very strongly then, and felt very grateful for the ability we have to pray and receive help from our Heavenly Father. I hope you can all take the time to offer a prayer when you are in need, and I know that the Lord will help you when you do so.

Last night I received news that I will be transferred, and will finish my mission in an area called San Isidro, a city closer to Asuncion. It’s a bit sad because I love Ypane and there will be several baptisms this month, but I know the Lord has a reason for putting me somewhere else, and I want to make the most out of these last 6 weeks I have.

That’s it from me, have a good week!
