Elder Harmer and I with Juan Carlos

¡Hola!  ¿Como Estan?

This week was extremely good.  On Saturday, we were able to baptize our friend Juan Carlos!  All of his family and friends showed up from Ita Paso and we had an awesome experience.  The support everyone had for him was incredible.  Elder Harmer told me, “On the day of a baptism,  you can never plan anything, because something ALWAYS goes wrong.”  Luckily, the day went pretty smoothly!  The only thing that went wrong was that we couldn’t keep the drinks for the refreshments cold.  His baptism made me reflect on what is said in Doctrine and Covenants section 18,  And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!

I am very excited to see how Juan Carlos will continue to grow and advance in the gospel.  He is working hard to begin the steps to receive the Aaronic Priesthood and continue to meet and get to know the members.  His conversion is so inspiring to me and really has built my testimony in missionary work!

This week I had the opportunity to go on exchanges.  But, the exchanges were interesting in the fact that it was with Elder Johnson.  Elder Johnson has the same amount of time in the mission as I do, as well as the same amount of time as Paraguay.  Both of our Spanish is… lacking, and we still don’t know our areas 100%.  I was fairly hesitant as he and I were left to our area, having to communicate ourselves with no older missionary who knows more Spanish or who knows the area better to help us.  It felt kind of how Nephi said, “And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do.”  But, slowly after following the spirit, we found things to do, and the day got really busy.  We ended the day with 7 lessons, a new person, and A TON of people invited to our baptism which was on Saturday.  At the end of that day, the spirit really manifested to me that no matter how much time you have on the mission, how well you know the area, how well you can speak and teach, what is really important is your own testimony and your willingness to follow the spirit.  I hope you can all find ways to follow the spirit this week and bless the lives of others!

When we went to Ita Paso on Wednesday, Juan Carlos's mom wanted to show us this stream next to her house. We went through a forest/jungle trail to this cute little stream. Apparently the little boys in Ita Paso swim in there quite often

I love you all and hope you have an excellent week!
