Howdy!
On Monday the week started with a mission wide conference, combined with the other mission here in Paraguay. The reason for the conference was because Elder Kearon, of the Presidency of the Seventy, was visiting the country with Elder Christensen, the Area President. So everyone from both missions went to our mission office, and it was crazy. There were 300 missionaries there that filled up the church building. Elder Kearon gave an awesome talk about how the missionaries themselves need to be the message. It was really interesting actually because he doesn’t speak Spanish so he had a translator tag along with him, and they were low-key fighting back and forth between translations and stuff so it was a lot of fun. It was the last time I’ll see some of my friends in the mission until they get home so it was kind of sad, but at the same time it was a blast and I had a great time.
Besides that the week had its ups and downs. I got pretty sick on Wednesday and Thursday, having to lay down and take lots of naps due to nausea and fever. On Friday we went over to the little stand where our friend Julio works and it was gone. We had no idea what happened, and thought maybe his parents moved it so he wouldn’t talk to us anymore, but they just moved it a block away to be able to have more customers, so that gave us a scare. But besides that we did what we do every week. We have several people we are teaching right now that can be baptized and so I will be focused on keeping my head up inviting others to come unto Christ.

I want to share this scripture from Alma 36, when Alma is writing a letter to his son and explaining how he felt when he had a change of heart from being wicked to being righteous:
20 “And oh, what joy, and what marvelous light I did behold; yea, my soul was filled with joy…”
I like this scripture because it talks of the joy that we have when we change our hearts and accept Christ in our lives. Or, it talks about how we should act when we share the gospel. We should show people that we have joy and have a light in our lives with the gospel, so that they can see that and want it in return. I hope you can all not only feel joy in your lives due to the gospel, but also be able to share that light and joy with others.
That’s it from me, have a good week!
Elder Watson
