Haupei!

We had a super fun week. We worked really hard at the beginning of the week trying to find more people to teach, as well as finishing up the last preparations for Andrea’s baptism. We were going to go over the baptismal interview questions with her on Thursday but she got really sick and we didn’t know if we would be able to get her ready in time, or even if she could be baptized if she was still sick on Saturday. We prayed a lot and were able to call her on Thursday to run over the baptismal interview questions, on Friday she felt good enough to be able to have the interview itself with our Zone Leader Elder Madsen, and on Saturday she was perfectly fine health wise to be able to be baptized. It was a huge blessing. The day of the baptism itself was incredible, there was a ton of attendance, more than I have seen in any baptism in my time here in Paraguay. She was super happy and on Sunday Elder Muñoz was able to confirm her as a member of the church.

That division I did with Elder Madsen on Friday was also super fun. We literally just had appointment after appointment with so many people. We were able to put 3 people on date for baptism that day, one was with the sister of a recent convert, and 2 were with the daughters of our friend Beatriz. Unfortunately Beatriz hasn’t been able to be baptized because of a few problems, but her daughters have the desire to come to church and be baptized, so we taught them and put them on date for baptism. I am grateful that in Ypane there are lots of people willing to help us with missionary work here. This mission has blessed my life in so many ways and I am so grateful to be here.

On Sunday it was the 5th Sunday, and so all the organizations had their class together. I don’t know if it was the same where all of you guys are, but here in Paraguay the South America South area wanted all the wards and branches to give a class on the importance of missionary work. It was a really good class, our bishop sent a request to the missionaries that are currently serving here to bear their testimonies over video and he shared them to everyone in the class. It was awesome and the mothers of the missionaries were very open about talking about the change they had seen in their sons. I relate to their feelings, but for myself, that I have changed so much while on the mission, and it is preparing it for my life afterwards. I hope you can all think about the missions that you have served, and for those who haven’t served, I invite you to take the time to prepare to serve, even if you don’t end up going out into the field.
