Happy P-Day!
This week was kind of weird. Because of Thanksgiving a lot of the lessons we consistently had got rescheduled or canceled. But, we still had some awesome lessons and Thanksgiving we had a sweet dinner. We ordered some Cracker Barrel catering and I must say, comparing that to the food I make is insane. That was some good Thanksgiving food. It was good to call my family on Thanksgiving as well.
Today for P-Day we went on a hike to some waterfalls with a lady in our ward. She has worked on an outdoor school for years, where kids would come and go with her on nature trails and studied all this nature stuff and had a good time. Due to COVID, the school didn’t have any more people and they filed for bankruptcy. Since the school is getting shut down, we asked if we could be the last people to go and do the hike with her, and she said she’d love to. It was cool to learn about what plants were edible, how you should build shelter before you find fire, and a bunch of other stuff. It’s a shame the school is getting shut down but I’m grateful for the bit of time I spent there!
Thinking about the outdoor school closing down for the lady in our ward has made me appreciate what I have. You never know when something you have will go, so we need to appreciate what we have. I took for granted things like my mom’s home-cooked meals and not having to wake up at 6:30 each day. I know as we look for things we are grateful, we will be much happier, as President Nelson testified.
Stay safe everyone and don’t get the Rona!
