Hey!
We had several interesting events that happened this week. It mainly all started on Thursday. On that day we finished divisions that we had the day before and got vaccinated for COVID while we were in a town that had a hospital. That day was one of the hottest days of my mission, and to make it worse the power went out at night until about 12:30. We sat down outside trying to get some sort of rest as we just sweated and sweated without any air conditioning or ventilation whatsoever. The next day Elder Orr wasn’t doing too hot, all of his muscles ached due to the vaccine and we were both tired due to the constant sweating and staying up late. We were able to still do a pretty decent amount of work that day but man, it is so much harder to effectively work when at the same time your body is telling you to just sit down and rest.

So even though it was a week of heat, aches, and tiredness, we had some awesome experiences this week. We found a family on Saturday that are super interested in the gospel. We were visiting with a member and the member straight up just said, “Let’s go visit this family that we know and that have asked about the church.” It was a great lesson and an awesome experience to have after a pretty difficult week. Then the day after we held our first ward council where we put forth some goals and plans for what we want to do here in the ward. I know that with the members’ help we will continue to bring the work forward. Just some cool experiences that happened that made me really grateful to be a missionary!
We finished off the week by visiting a referral we got. This referral was a member, who had grown distant from the church for several years and then they moved here to Ypané and wanted to again come to church. It was a great lesson to have, and I loved seeing a desire to be active grow in her heart. It made me think of the prodigal son, where even though there were times where they didn’t do what God had asked or strayed from the path, they still were able to find their way home and cling to the iron rod. I hope you all know that no matter how far you may feel you are from God, there is always a way back, you just have to choose to grab a hold of the iron rod and press forward.
That’s it from me, have a good week!
Elder Watson
