Hola!

This week had its ups and downs. Not much happened before Friday, we worked a lot with our branch leaders to fellowship the inactive members. We also taught Jessica about the commandments necessary for baptisms and she doesn’t have any problems with obeying them so we are all set for her baptism this coming Saturday. On Friday was when this week really picked up. We had the opportunity to travel to Ciudad del Este to have a big multi-zone conference where we met Elder and Sister Christensen. Elder Christensen is the President of the South America South area and was touring our mission. We left Friday in the afternoon and arrived in Ciudad del Este in the evening. We stayed the night in the apartment of Elder Valenzuela’s old area, which was pretty cool. We then headed to the chapel to have the conference.

It was a great experience, I learned a lot about sacrifice and allowing the Lord to swallow up my will in his. All of the pictures included are from the conference. You’ll notice that in one of the pictures it appears to be very dark. This was because during the conference there was a massive storm outside. We could hear thunder every 30 seconds, we could hear the wind whistling against the walls and windows, shaking the bars. When the rain began to descend like a monsoon is when the power went out in the building, leaving only the front lights of the chapel on. Luckily we could still continue on with the conference, and it was an interesting yet uplifting experience to say the least.

Afterwards I reflected on our conference inside the church while there was a storm outside. The storms and torments of the world are constant, and it is important that we find time to be in holy places so we can be protected. If we don’t spend the necessary time in holy places, we run the risk of being caught in the tempests of the world and fall into temptation. I hope all of you can find time to stand in holy places, whether it be in the church, temple, or in your homes studying and pondering the gospel, so that you can always be protected against the attacks of the adversary.

I hope you all have a good week!
