¿Como le van?
This week was very successful for us! We had the opportunity to baptize Laura! She was so excited to be baptized and loved bearing her testimony after the baptism. Elder Reynolds Myers had the privilege to baptize her, and everything went smoothly! The only thing we need to improve is to heat up the water next time. Also, when we searched the church for baptismal clothes on Friday, we noticed that ALL the jumpsuits, pants, and shirts had black stains that appeared to look almost like burn marks from welding or something. Upon further inspection we realized it was all mold. We took one jumpsuit we thought would fit her and soaked it in a bleach solution, then Saturday morning we dropped it off at a store to get it washed. If the mold didn’t come out our plan B was to have her wear my too-big white pants and too-big white shirt. Luckily when we picked up the jumpsuit it was flawlessly clean and ironed. So that’s a big help we had.
This week has had some weird weather. There is fog quite often in the mornings, and it leaves some pretty cool looking views from our apartment. It also seems like each night there is a massive thunderstorm. Right when we get ready for bed, we hear the rain start pouring on the roof and just a continual symphony of thunder. Besides all of that, the week was pretty good. We walked a lot, worked a lot, and talked a lot. We did receive some bad news this morning. We found out that President and Hermana Hansen have COVID. They were going to travel around the mission for the next couple of weeks for Zone Conferences and saying goodbye to lots of missionaries because they are leaving at the end of this month. That was really a bummer, but luckily they are doing pretty well, and their symptoms aren’t too severe. So keep them in your prayers!

With Laura’s baptism this week I have thought a lot about what it means to endure to the end. We read in 2 Nephi 31 this counsel from Nephi about what we need to do after we make covenants with the Lord,
19 And now, my beloved brethren, after ye have gotten into this strait and narrow path, I would ask if all is done? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for ye have not come thus far save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken faith in him, relying wholly upon the merits of him who is mighty to save.
20 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.
Whether you have been a member for the majority of your life, or just for a few days, we need to keep this counsel in mind. It is sometimes easy to become complacent with our faith. We need to continually ask ourselves if we are living in the manner that the Lord wants us to live. We should continually ask ourselves the questions of Alma 5,
27 Have ye walked, keeping yourselves blameless before God? Could ye say, if ye were called to die at this time, within yourselves, that ye have been sufficiently humble? That your garments have been cleansed and made white through the blood of Christ, who will come to redeem his people from their sins?
28 Behold, are ye stripped of pride? I say unto you, if ye are not ye are not prepared to meet God. Behold ye must prepare quickly; for the kingdom of heaven is soon at hand, and such an one hath not eternal life.
I know that if we continually improve our lives each day to live more in harmony with the Lord, we will eventually receive eternal life. I hope you all can find ways to continually change your lives as well as I hope you all have a good week!
