Myself, Juan Carlos, and Elder Harmer

Another week goes by and I am loving serving.  Everyday when we get home from walking in the heat, humidity, and mud, I can hit the pillow knowing I worked hard that day and can rest and work hard tomorrow as well. My Spanish is improving every day and I can understand what pretty much everyone is saying unless they are old and only speak Guarani.  I love the people here, they love to say little English phrases and it’s really funny.  They are super nice and always willing to help me out with my Spanish.  I’m so happy to be serving here.

This week was super busy.  It started off with Zone Conference on Tuesday.  Since Encarnacion is a solid 7 hours away from the mission office, President Hansen couldn’t make the trip out so we held it virtually.  It was awesome and very insightful on how work here differentiates from work in the United States.  Then on Wednesday and on Friday we did divisions with our District Leader and our Zone Leaders respectively.  My District Leader is Elder Chamorro, he is Paraguayan and speaks very good English.  He was awesome to work with.  Then on Friday I worked with one of my Zone Leaders, Elder Stillwell.  I had a good time walking around and working with him and visiting with people.  Then on Saturday and Sunday we were in Ita Paso to go to church and teach our Investigator Juan Carlos.  We taught him the last few commandments and soon we will have Elder Chomorro interview him and have his baptism!

I am super grateful to be serving here.  I love seeing how the gospel changes people’s lives and helps them grow closer to Christ.  I have really seen people’s lives change from being, “crimson”, to “as white as snow”, through the Atonement of Christ.  All we have to do is have faith and him and repent of our sins.

I hope you all had a good valentines day and will also have a good week!
