Hola!
We had a good and productive week. It got pretty cold, down to about 40 at the lowest, and so that means that it’s tough to find stuff to do during the day because people are inside bundled up in blankets and don’t want to go out and answer the door. Also, everyone got sick, on Friday morning our phone got blown up with texts and calls from people wanting a priesthood blessing for their colds/flus and whatever else they were suffering with. Besides all of that, we had some awesome lessons with our friend Andrea, and she is preparing to be baptized this coming Saturday! Hopefully we can get everything set up and ready for that day, as well as that everyone in the ward can feel better so that they can attend. They’ve assisted so much with Andrea and are a super active part in our work here. They even took one of our other friends that we are teaching to the temple on Saturday. So that’s what’s been going on here in Ypane, and we are going to keep on working with the members so that we can bring more people into the waters of baptism.
We also had Zone Conference this week. One of the things we focused on was having good studies in the mornings, so we can receive revelation to help our friends and the work in our areas. This scripture in Doctrine and Covenants section 11:
21 Seek not to declare my word, but first seek to obtain my word, and then shall your tongue be loosed; then, if you desire, you shall have my Spirit and my word, yea, the power of God unto the convincing of men.
In my mission I have learned the importance of studying the gospel, I can tell the difference in my teaching when I study well and when I don’t study well. It’s a habit I hope to carry on after my mission so that I can receive spiritual strength, and I hope you can all take an inventory of your gospel study and make the changes necessary to make the daily study of the gospel a priority in your life.
