Elder Portillo and I with the cake
Elder Portillo and I with the cake

¿Hola como están?

Pretty interesting week, we said goodbye to some of our Elders and said ‘hola’ to the new ones that were coming in. This week I did an exchange with one of these Elders, Elder Portillo. He is from Argentina but has been living in Paraguay for a few years now. That day we went to a birthday party for a woman in our ward. It was special because just a couple weeks ago her husband passed away. We thought of doing something special, so we had another sister in the ward make a massive cake, and we took it to her for her birthday. It was a good time, and we did some good work this week.

It seems like every week that passes the more difficult it becomes to find stuff to write about. It’s not that we don’t do anything, it’s that the stuff we do is the stuff that we always do. I guess that’s a good thing when you think about it. This Sunday I taught Sunday school again, and we talked about the Israelites, when they decided to make a golden calf. In that moment I realized a few things, that they had seen the power of God before, and knew what was right, but still did what was contrary to what they knew. I think that we can be like the Israeliets sometime, that we can know what’s right but still make the wrong choice. That’s why we have to constantly do the right things, that when the moment comes where we have to decide between doing something right or wrong, we can choose the right. When we are constantly reading our scriptures, saying our prayers, going to church, we will have the spiritual sensitivity to listen to the spirit and make the right decisions. I hope you can all do the right things!

That’s it from me, have a good week!
