Hello everyone. It’s kind of weird having a P-Day only a couple days after another P-Day because there isn’t much that has really happened besides a few things of note. One of which is the arrival of the new set of Elders here, Elders Hakes and Jones. They both played football, which is pretty funny. Elder Hakes played Offensive Line at his high school in California and plans to play football for BYU after his mission, so that’s pretty cool. He originally served in Australia but was reassigned to Ohio because of Covid.
The second thing of note is the election this week. We had a mission-wide call this Friday, and President Horgesheimer talked about preparation for the election. He talked about how we need to prepare for civil unrest due to the election, and how some companionships may have to stay indoors for a while because of it. What a crazy world we live in. We live in a time where “men’s hearts shall fail them”, and “the love of men shall wax cold.” Its important to realize that in these times of turmoil we need to center our focus on Christ who gives us peace. I know that as we focus on Christ in our lives by seeking to attain Christlike attributes, that we will be able to set aside the turmoil and have peace in our lives.
Stay safe everyone, more so now than ever. Good luck to BYU as they play Boise this week. All the members here are quick to tell me about the latest BYU win every time they play so I’ll likely hear the outcome shortly after it happens.
I love you all
Elder Watson
