Our district at the zoo
Our district at the zoo

Hola!

The entirety of this week was spent in quarantine!  It was a lot better than I was expecting.  The mission as a whole reached almost double the people we would have otherwise reached if we were not in a quarantine.  We spent a ton of time inviting everyone to listen to General Conference!  Juan Carlos invited his mother to listen to General Conference and she loved it!  We are hoping to start teaching her this week and help her have the faith to make the changes that Juan Carlos did so she can enter the covenant path.  There were a lot of things that I learned while in quarantine again but I am really excited to go back out.  There are so many people to teach and lives to uplift and I know that if Elder Harmer and I can have faith we will find those who have humbled themselves and want God to prevail in their lives!

All week we were stuck inside, so everyone in our district was really excited to go and have a district activity today.  We decided to go to a local zoo.  I remember going to the Hogle Zoo for one of my P-Days in the home MTC, and I must say, the local zoo here was about as good as you could expect.  They had some cool animals, but the best part of the day was definitely talking with the other missionaries.  We organized around 3 different exchanges this week with some of the Elders in our Zone today so this week will be pretty fun.  It’s the last week of the transfer and even with quarantine this transfer has flown by.  I think they should take inspiration from the adage, “Time flies by when you’re having fun”, and make a new one that says, “Time flies by when you’re on the Lord’s errand”.

Le Monkes. Easily the most entertaining animals at the zoo.

One of the things that I really took out of General Conference was the importance of faith in our lives.  Faith should be one of the guiding principles by which we live by.  We need to have faith to progress in the gospel, have the companionship of the Holy Ghost, and have faith to preach and spread the gospel.  Faith isn’t just gained magically in a day, as Alma explained in the Book of Mormon, it can be compared to a seed.  It needs to constantly nourished by praying, studying the word of God, and renewing your Covenants each week.  I invite each of you to include time in your day to find ways to increase your faith so you can be a better instrument in the hands of the Lord.

Until next week!

So this dude is a guy that sells Chipa during easter. This entire past week he rode around Ita Paso yelling at everyone to buy some Chipa. Hopefully he will stop now that easter is over...
